Sorry, me old mate - it's industry shorthand - buzzwords. Getting the right number of people to answer the expected number of calls within an acceptable time is what it basically means. Dimensioning is much easier to type and seems to give the impression that you know what the fuck you're talking about.

No, but crashing is just one of many problems with it. I've tried to use it on a number of occasions and it just doesn't work.

I'd stick with ripoff if it wasn't for the continuously broken ticket site on the internet. That's what makes it a scam.

I've done a fair amount of work in the past dimensioning call centres and their infrastructure.

I've tended to stay away from the contractual side as far as I can but it did seem common custom & practice in some countries for a call centre to under-dimension the actual number of people available to answer the calls swiftly, in return for getting a fairly substantial discount from the company providing the lines into the call centre.

Shit loads of money to be made from having a call answered (and generating revenue) but not needing to pay staff too do anything once the call's been answered.

I signed it earlier this week.

It should be illegal for these premium charge numbers to be allowed to be making money while you're held in a queue. If they must be allowed then they should only be only be able to charge for the call when you're put through to a human being that can deal with your call.

But why you should have to pay an extra fee for a call when most of the time you're calling to spend money on tickets.

There was a time when tickets were cheap, there was no booking fee and the phone line was at the standard rate.
This just shows what a trio of spivs run our club.

It seems what would be fair, and this isn't just with the ticket office, but all help desks etc, is that you shouldn't start paying until you get to speak to someone; being on hold should be free, and the government should make this UK law.

Came to terms with the fact that football is a business some time ago, but there's something about this that really pisses me off.

Might have something to do with the hundreds of £'s it cost me last season!

Unfortunately that 020 8 number for the ticket office just directs you to the 0871 number. I tried it previously as I wanted to ask them which away teams fall into our A, B and C ticket categories. Tried the official site and also googled the hell out of it but to no avail. If anyone knows ...
